Staff Trainings & Meetings
Staff Training is gearing up! The Lifeguard Certification Training Class starts Monday, June 2 through Friday, June 6 this week from 1 pm to 6 pm. Banner is proud to offer certification training by our pool leadership and supervisors. It will be a great week at the Banner Pools!
Orientation Team Leaders have a meeting on Monday, June 2 at 3 pm to prepare for orientation. This meeting helps Banner prepare for new and returning staff to be ready to go and organized for orientation week. OTLs have been chosen by our Banner Leadership Team and have a few years of experience, leadership skills and welcoming and enthusiastic attitudes.
Returning Staff join in at 4:30 pm on Monday, June 2 for a returning staff meeting. All counselors and junior counselors that have been here previously attend this important meeting. We will gather in the dining hall and share how to welcome new staff during orientation week and what being part of the Banner community means.
High Ropes Training will begin on Tuesday, June 3, Wednesday, June 4 and Thursday, June 5 for staff working in our adventure high ropes program. All staff will be certified by a professional trainer and learn the key safety guidelines for our giant swing and senior zip line. Staff will arrive at 9:00 am and train until 5:00 pm for three days.
Calling all singers…Rich and the Bannerama Team will be having a singers meeting on Wednesday, June 4 at 3:45 pm. Come prepared to sing and audition to share your talent on the Bannerama stage this summer.
All new staff will meet on Thursday, June 5 from 4 pm to 5:30 pm and tour camp. This will help prepare all new staff for specific logistical information, see where all areas of camp are located and meet some of our leadership team.
Driver Orientation will be Friday, June 6 from 8:30 am all day to finalize all the details of the numerous hours of driver training. We work diligently to be able to have camp counselors obtain their CDL and drive our campers each and everyday. They will also be practicing routes during orientation week to prepare for the first day of camp.
Orientation Week is around the corner from June 9 to June 13 as well. Wow — can you believe how dedicated Banner is to our staff training and preparing for camp to begin? Thanks in advance to all our staff who are committed to making this 50th summer at Banner the best yet! The best is yet to be!
